Phillip Ray Hernandez born on July 20, 1969, in San Antonio, TX entered eternal rest on July 3, 2024. Phillip is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rebecca Hernandez. He is also survived by his mother Elsie Hernandez and brothers Michael and George Hernandez, many sisters in laws and brother in laws and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is proceeded in death in by his father Rafael Hernandez. Phillip was very active and a handy man. He worked as a sheet metal engineer for many years. Whether with work or personal dilemmas he was great at brain storming, studying the issue and his quote was always “I’ll make it work” and he would. Phillip had many hobbies. He loved hunting was a motorcycle rider and he loved to read especially anything with history of war, in movies or books. He was also a huge sports fan. He played football and baseball throughout his life. He was a Tennessee Titans fan- “Titan Up”. He followed the Houston Oilers when they moved. He was also a faithful Cleveland Indians/Guardian fan. He loved to watch the little league world series baseball, softball, and college world series. Remembering players if they made it to the pros, remembering stats. His wife would tease him saying he knew where these players went to high school, and he couldn’t remember where she went to high school, and they went to high school together. One of Phils main hobbies and one of his favorite things was his music. He had his music on everywhere he went from the garage even in the bathroom. He was a huge rock music fan but also enjoyed good country music. He has seen so many bands in concert and would go back every year to see Judas Priest and Iron Maiden when they came to town. If you knew Phillip, you were lucky. He was a man of few words and did not let to many people in. He studied people and the trust and respect were a big part of the people he welcomed in. You knew where you stood with Phil. He was protective of his family especially his wife, he adored her. They were high school sweethearts they meet in 1985. He was not a perfect man, but he was a GREAT man. He was generous and would help anyone he could. With so many hobbies he said his favorite was always being at home with Rebecca, having a cold beer and listening to cool tunes. One of Phillip last wishes that he told his wife was “bury me with my boots on” Why? “So, I can kick ass for eternity”! This world and our lives are less without Phillip! He’s probably up in heaven with his rock fingers in the air saying “Bad Ass”!
