Raymond John Salas “Coach” entered eternal rest on March 17, 2026, at the age of 49. He was born in San Antonio on July 2, 1976, to parents Elias Leija Salas and Maria (Madrigal) Rocha. He is preceded in death by his father Elias; his son, Jonah Angel Salas; his brother, Elias “Buda” Salas; his grandparents, Jose and Celia Madrigal; aunts, Belia M. Rangel and Elva M. Garza, uncles, Emitt Rangel and Edward “Lalo” Garza; and niece, Micaela Salas. Ray leaves behind to carry on his legacy and cherish his memories; wife, Jennifer; sons, Fabian, Ozrick, Jahsiah, and Jalix ; his mother Mary Rocha and stepfather Ruben; sisters, Melissa Salas and Gina Aguilar (husband Jesse); sister-n-law, Jessica; nieces and nephews; Alexis (Joseph), Noah, Tito, Amri, Miranda, Julius, Mateo, Isaac, Malachi “Chop”, Sinica, and Danika and numerous other loving family members and friends. His family was the center of his world. Ray was truly one of a kind—always the jokester, ready to have fun even when no one else was. He had a way with words and loved giving nicknames to all his close family and friends. Baseball was his passion. He coached and pushed his boys, spending countless weekends traveling just to see the joy on their faces. He gave tough love both on and off the field. Ray always worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and boys, always putting his own needs last. He took on countless side jobs to ensure our family had everything they wanted. He was truly selfless and never let us go without. Ray was well-known for his adventurous spirit on his Harley. He began riding at a young age and cherished every moment on the road with his brother-n-law Jesse and his Thin Blue Line Family. Riding was his escape—his way to feel fully present, free from the world’s worries. It brought him adrenaline, joy, and happiness that only the open road could give. Ray took great pride in his work and always gave his very best during his years with Coca-Cola. He was overjoyed when he earned his CDL—another achievement that showed his family just how committed and hardworking he truly was. He never shied away from tough jobs and approached everything with unwavering dedication. His work ethic was unmatched, and he gave so much of himself to ensure his family had everything they needed. Let us carry all the love he gave and cherish the memories we hold close to our hearts. His legacy will continue through his boys, family and countless lives he touched. The family will be receiving family and friends on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 for a 12:00 P.M. mass at St. Leonard Catholic Church.
