Beloved Mother Rebecca Gonzales, age 67, of San Antonio, went to be with our Lord on Sunday June 12th at Vitas Hospice Facility after a courageous battle. She was the beloved mother of Alejandro and Gregory Gamboa. Rebecca was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of Virginia Nuncio. Rebecca proudly worked at the San Antonio State School for over 20 years where she had countless friends before she retired. She was a devoted daughter to her mother Virginia Nuncio and a best friend to her sister Lydia. They shared many laughs. Her sons Alex and Greg were what she considered to be her "Greatest Accomplishments". It gave her so much peace and love to be with her family in her last days. Rebecca will be "watching over them from heaven." Rebecca will be joining her sister Janie and father Gregorio Gonzales in our Lord's Kingdom. Rebecca is survived by Mother Virginia Nuncio, Son-Alejandro Gamboa and wife Deanna and grandchildren Jacquelyn, Abigail and Michael Gamboa. Son- Gregory Gamboa and partner Marc Villareal and Grandson George Gamboa. Niece God-Daughter - Virginia Sanchez and Sons: Ellijah and Nickolas Reyes. Great-Niece Amanda McCumber and son Angel Gonzalez Jr. Sisters- Lydia Gonzales and son Miguel Saldivar Jr. and Diana Gonzales and Husband Rudy, Brothers- Antonio Gonzales and wife Cenayda, Larry Gonzales and Wife Janie and many other loved nephews, nieces and cousins. Rebecca will be missed greatly by her "furry companions" Lasso Bear and Lola Katz. She cherished, loved and spoiled them. God Saw You Getting Tired By: Anonymous God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, "Come to me." You didn't deserve what you went through, So He gave you rest. Gods Garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best and when I saw you sleeping, So peaceful and free from pain I could not wish you back to suffer that again. Memorial Services will be held June 16th Mission South Funeral Chapel 1700 S.E. Military Dr. San Antonio, Texas 78214 6:00pm to 8:30pm Rosary to begin at 7:00pm Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church 3814 Nash San Antonio, Texas 78223 June 17th at 11:00am Per Rebecca's request, please wear a shade of purple to her memorial service, as this was her favorite color.
