Richard Pena was born on February 2, 1955 went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2015 at the age of 60. He is preceded in death by his parents Rodolfo Pena and Ofelia Villarreal Pena. He is survived by Brothers and Sisters: Rudy wife Stella, Rosalinda, Rachel, Roger wife Alexandra, Ralph wife Lisa Affectionately known as "Ricky P", he lived life by many mottos including: "Live life! Don't let life live you!", "Death makes Living so important" and "It's not how long you live but how strong you live". He was a standout baseball player and was the recipient of many accolades during his playing days at St. Cecilia's CYO, Southside Boy's Club, Brackenridge High School, Pan American University and as a professional baseball player in the U.S. and in Torreon, Mexico. A graduate of Pan American University with a degree in Education in 1977 and later received his Master's degree in 1984. After his athletic career, he spent his work career as an educator, recruiter, appraiser and retired as a central office administrator for the San Antonio Independent School District where he worked for twenty-six years. Throughout his lifetime he had many roles including being a coach, mentor and confidant to many people. He had a special ability of being able to bring people together to strengthen and improve relationships among family & friends. "Ricky P" served as best man to many of his friends marriages but his most treasured role was that of being the Favorite Uncle to his nieces & nephews: Jeffrey, Michael, Edmund, Roland, Kristy, Victoria, Nicolas, Mark & Annalise along with great nieces & nephews Mia, Gia, Nikko, Rio, Roman & Ryan. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy of a truly compassionate, generous and loving person who helped make so many become better people. He will be missed, but his impact in this world will certainly live on in the hearts & minds of those of us whose lives was influenced by his guidance and love. "His master replied,'Well done, good and faithful servant! -Matthew 25:21 Rosary will be at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 7pm with the Memorial Mass Service on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church at 10am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be to your favorite charity in "Ricky P" memory.
