Richard (Ricky) Wayne Reddout, a true believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, heard the words, “Welcome home thy good and faithful servant” on January 25, 2025. Ricky was a loving husband, devoted dad, Pa, son, brother and friend. He was born on February 24, 1965, in San Antonio, TX. to Donald and Nancy Reddout. Ricky graduated from John Marshall High School in 1983 and worked with his dad and brothers in their family-owned construction business for many years. Ricky married his wife, Catherine (Katie) on June 13, 1987, and spent 37 years together. Their love story started at the early age of 13 when they met in junior high. They have two children, Tallon and Cassidy, their spouses Sonia and Jake, and two precious granddaughters, Mia Alexandra and Ella Charlotte. He was devoted to his family and friends and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. He believed in daily devotion to his Lord and would spend several hours every morning reading scripture so he would be ready to tell others about salvation and how to know you would spend eternity in heaven, his desire for everyone he met. He never met a stranger he couldn’t befriend or a story he couldn’t tell you 10 different ways. Ricky is predeceased by his grandparents, Clyde and Vivian Reddout, TJ and Bessie Baker and his in-laws, John and Jackie Gilbert. He is survived by his wife, Katie, children, Tallon, Sonia, Cassidy, and Jake, granddaughters Mia and Ella, his brothers, Ronnie (DiAnn), Shane (Valerie), nieces and nephews, Kayla L., Kayla K., Sam, Josiah, Elijah, great nieces and nephew, Jacksyn, Wyatt, Bryson and cousins, Robbin (Arthur) Townsend, Becky (Spanky) Witt, Jess (Tammy) Walters and Geno (Crystal) Walters as well as many other cousins, and life long friends Russell, Carl, Jody and Tony, friends Rick and Janet and his church family. Visitation will be held on February 6, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Mission Park Funeral Home, 3401 Cherry Ridge Dr., San Antonio, TX 78230. Funeral Services will be held on February 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Helotes Independent Baptist Church, 15335 Orange Tower, Helotes, TX 78023. Internment will follow at Mission Park North, 20900 IH 10W, San Antonio, TX 78257. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to the Missions Fund at Talley Road Baptist Church, 3120 Talley Road, San Antonio, TX 78253. Ricky’s life Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:5-7 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
