Rodney Earl Stevenson of San Antonio ,Tx. passed away peacefully in his home November 10,2022, in the comforting presence of his wife, Christina, after a battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Rodney was born the second of five children to Ernest Stevenson and Mabel Metzger Stevenson on July 3, 1951. Rodney's childhood was filled with family, friends, and adventure. He was an altar boy and active in Boy Scouts. He loved water skiing and boating on Lake LBJ with friends and cousins. His family traveled every summer, camping and exploring the country's National Parks. He learned and loved to fly small aircraft and was an automobile enthusiast as well as a garage band guitarist. Above all else he loved his family and friends. He was a best friend, a kind soul, and the funniest guy you'd ever want to know. Rodney joined the Air Force after graduating from Sam Houston High School. He was a Loadmaster and continued to travel and fly. After the Air Force, he attended and graduated from Texas Lutheran University. He spent his career at Ft. Sam Houston in procurement until his retirement in 2005. He later married the love of his life, Christina Barter Stevenson. Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Christina. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Glen Stevenson (Sharon) and survived by his sisters, Cheryl Barnett (Ricke), Joanie Grumbles (Ronnie), Barb Mullen (Terry) son-in-law Jason Barter (Sharon) and sister-in-law, Michelle Harris and brother-in-law Don Steward (Shanna) He is also survived by his children Victoria (Tori) Stevenson, Christopher Stevenson and stepdaughter, Cindy Hall. He found great joy in his grandchildren: Justin Trey Haynes, Blake Earl Haynes, Tiffany Ann Haynes, Alexis Cristen Stevenson, Nolan Evan Stevenson, Jacqueline Belle Barter, Madison Rose Barter, Raif Steele Barter and Sophia Lynn Barter. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to EMBRACE Hospice and Rodney's sister-in-law, Michelle Harris for her unending love and care.
