Rodolfo M. Ramon Jr. Rodolfo M. Ramon Jr., affectionately known as Rudy, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 16, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Olga Clover, and Rodolfo G. Ramon. Rudy is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Tommie Ramon; his sons, Edward Ramon (wife Molly) and Ernest Ramon (wife Alma) his grandchildren, Rylee, Chloe, Ella, Alexander, and Jasmine; and his great-granddaughters, Romie and Pippa. He also leaves behind countless extended family members and many dear friends who were blessed to know and love him. A lifelong resident of San Antonio, Rudy graduated from Burbank High School in 1967 before being drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country from 1968 to 1972 and continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1978. Following his military service, Rudy worked at Santa Rosa Hospital before beginning a distinguished 28-year career with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. His dedication as a Union Steward, work ethic, and commitment to serving others earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Rudy had a remarkable love for music. Jazz, blues, and classic oldies filled his heart and home, and he took great joy in creating playlists to share with family and friends. The timeless sounds of 1950s and 1960s rock and roll were a constant presence in his life and reflected his vibrant spirit. Blessed with a good ear for music and a voice he enjoyed sharing with his family, Rudy found happiness in every song. He was also a passionate sports fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite teams: the San Antonio Spurs, the Chicago Bears, and the New York Yankees. Rudy found great joy on the softball field, competing alongside friends and family. He also proudly coached his sons in baseball and faithfully attending every game, whether home or away. More than anything, Rudy's greatest pride and deepest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-granddaughters, and even the family dogs. Those who knew him will forever remember his infectious smile and laughter, his hot sauce, tequila sunrises, root beer floats, his beloved home bar, his advice and opinions, his unwavering support, and the unconditional love he so freely gave. Rudy's life was a beautiful example of love, generosity, passion, and service. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, the lives he touched, and the traditions he created. Though he will be profoundly missed, his love, laughter, and gentle spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
