Rose Ann Hauger was born on August 29, 1937 and went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Hauger, parents Henry and Mary Morkovsky, sisters, Theresa Arburn, PhD., Katherine Morkovsky, and daughter-in-law Samantha Hauger. Rose is survived by her children Mary Richter Alex of Midland, TX, Monica Itz Jeremy of Fredericksburg, TX, Jeanne Clifford Frederic of Dallas, TX, Elizabeth Weich Joseph of Dallas, TX, Greg Hauger Debbie of Sinton, TX, Andy Hauger Sandi of San Antonio, TX, and Col. Frank Hauger, M.D. Lynn of Belton, TX; 31 grandchildren, Tiffany Anzaldua, Bailey Hauger, Ryan Ferguson, Jacob Ferguson, Amanda Walther Brandon, Veronica McDonald Ian, Alex Michele Richter, Nathan Richter, Tricia Eilers Scott, Benjamin Itz, Elizabeth Itz, Matthew Itz, Rebekah Itz, Kyralyssa Hauger, Drew Hauger, Sean Hauger, Jacob Hauger, Elijah Clifford, Aaron Clifford, Hannah Clifford, Bridgette Clifford, Rose Clifford, Katie Hauger, Kevin Hauger, Nicholas Hauger, Julia Hauger, Stephen Hauger, Kristina Weich, Colette Weich, Elisa Weich, Gretta Weich; 6 great-grandchildren, Cortlyn Anzaldua, Chloe Ferguson, Aliyah Ferguson, Addison Eilers, Claire Eilers and Emma Eilers; 4 sisters, Sister Mary Christine Morkovsky, C.D.P., Helen Cyr Ed-d., Agnes Raz Joe, Ann Frances Adams Gerald; 3 brothers, Henry C. Morkovsky Nina, John Morkovsky Eunice-d., and Paul Morkovsky Dolores, brother-in-law, Bob Arburn, and numerous nieces, nephews and God-children. Rose was a kind, loving woman with a great sense of humor that often took others by surprise. She had a knack for remembering little things about people that made big differences in the quality of their lives. Rose put her faith and family before everything else in her life. They were the source of the light that shone from her eyes and emanated through her beautiful smile. They were the inspiration for many hours spent away from home and thousands of miles driven each year. Rose loved to travel whenever and wherever she had the chance, whether she was driving across Texas to visit her children and grandchildren, cruising with relatives to Alaska, seeing the sights of Europe or making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. She supported education, especially Catholic education, and valued lifelong learning on a wide variety of topics. Rose fostered this love of learning in all of her children and grandchildren. She could bake Czech pastries that were tastier than any of those found in the best bakeries. She was an accomplished seamstress from an early age, having designed and sewn her own wedding gown at the age of 19, along with special occasion garments for family and friends throughout the rest of her life. Photography was another passion, and her grandchildren were among her favorite subjects. Her artistic talent extended into music as well. Rose was gifted with a beautiful soprano voice which she used for the Glory of God, and to the enjoyment of others. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was employed as a Park Ranger for the San Antonio Missions, followed by various clerical positions. Our beloved Mother/Grandmother/Sister/Friend left some big shoes to fill and will be greatly missed. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Congregation of Divine Providence, Teresian Sisters, or a charity of choice.
