Roxanne Gamez, 35, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Sunday March 5, 2023, in her home surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer. Roxanne was born in San Antonio to Richard L. Martinez and Jean Esquivel on July 23, 1987. She went to Harlandale High School and graduated in 2005. She went on to earn a PTCB certification from San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistance (SACMDA). She worked as a Senior Pharmacy Technician for CVS for over 15 years. Roxanne loved to bake and craft. She was a dance mom, a soccer mom and volunteered for the PTA at her daughters’ elementary school. One of her favorite things to do was organize holiday gatherings and host parties at her home for friends and family. Roxanne was an incredible light in the lives of her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and a dedicated mother. Most of her time away from work was spent with her husband and children making memories of love and laughter. She was also a loving daughter, and a magnificent sister. She was the central figure in her family’s life, as they would often gather at her house for special and important occasions. To all her friends, Roxanne was the life of the party. She opened her home to everyone and was always the person people would visit for guidance, comfort, or to play games and have a good time. She will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor and her smile that made everyone laugh and feel like they were in the presence of pure love and generosity. Roxanne is survived by her husband Delfino Gamez Jr; her daughters Nayeli Belle Gamez and Yaretzi Ariel Gamez; her mother Jean Esquivel (Richard Gonzalez) and father Richard L. Martinez; her brother Richard E. Martinez (Audrey Cain); her sisters Ruby Jean Martinez (Gregg Nussbaum), Gabriela Martinez and Corina Bueno; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Eleazar and Elvira Esquivel, and Rodolpho and Elida Martinez. Along with her stepmother Gloria Martinez. The funeral service will be held at St. John Nuemann Catholic Church on Thursday March 16th at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Mission Retama Cemetery, 15940 Lookout Road San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be on Wednesday March 15th at 6:00pm with the Rosary to follow immediately after at 7:00pm. They will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive San Antonio, TX. We love Roxanne and she will forever be in our hearts and memory. We pray that her wounds are finally healed, and her spirit is at peace watching over her loved ones from heaven. We love you, Roxanne! Don’t drink all the margaritas before we get there!
