On Monday, August 23rd, 2021 at 8:21 AM, beloved husband and father Roy Garcia passed away at the young age of 49 after a lengthy battle with COVID-19. Roy Garcia was born on June 25th, 1972 to parents Roy Sr. and Lilia Garcia in San Antonio, Texas. He received his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture at Texas A&M Kingsville in December of 1999; graduating Summa Cum Laude and with the Distinguished Student Award. Roy decided his talents would best be suited by spreading his wealth of knowledge onto the youth of San Antonio, and starting in 2006, he began a 13-year teaching career focusing on Science at Robbins Academy and Alamo Heights High School. In 2020, Roy accepted a job as an Property Claims Adjuster at AllCat Claims. Roy had a passion for hunting, fishing and gaming. It would take more than a year to go over all of his different types of rifles and dozens of fishing rods. He had enough fishing rods for every day of the year. His love for gaming was one of the biggest things that he and his two stepchildren, Matthew and Michael, had in common. Roy was also an incredible cook. He introduced his wife, Yvonne, to all new spices, smells and tastes. But he was most well-known for his infectious laughter that would fill a room when he let it out. Anyone who met Roy would say he was quite possibly the nicest person on the planet and they would be dead-serious and spot-on. Roy met the love of his life in his daughter, Gioia when she was born on February 20th, 2005 . Roy watched Gioia grow into a young woman and wanted nothing more than to see her succeed in life. In 2018, Roy met Yvonne and it truly was love at first sight. Both Roy and Yvonne were instantly connected to each other and in 2019, Roy and Yvonne married, planning to grow old together. Along with Gioia and Yvonne, Roy is survived by numerous family members, namely his siblings Velma, Diane and Rocky, his father Roy Sr, his two stepchildren Matthew and Michael, his cat Milo and of course his dog Copper. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family of Roy Garcia.
