Sabino S. Garcia passed away on February 3, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on April 13, 1947 in San Antonio, to Tomas L. Garcia and Teresa S. Solis. Sabino was a proud Vietnam Veteran and served in the Army from 1966 to 1969 and received multiple commendations including: National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. After the military, Sabino worked in civil service for many years to include time at Kelly Air Force Base and Camp Stanley. After retiring Sabino enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, time in his RV, his dog Gia, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Sabino’s easy going attitude allowed him to make lifelong friends in minutes. We will miss his deep baritone voice and his gift of storytelling. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Josephine Villarreal Garcia; his sons, Mark A. Garcia, Theodore Garcia (Victoria); his step-daughter, Jo Ann Lucas, stepsons Michael Villarreal, Humberto Villarreal (Julie); his sister, Paula G. Alicea, his brother Thomas S. Garcia Jr. (Henrietta); his nieces Patricia Ann Ramirez and Kasandra Alicea; his grandchildren, Olivia Maria Garcia and Joshua Alexander Garcia; his sister-in-law Emily Profeta (Philip) and brother-in-law Jesse Garza (Dalia). He also leaves behind 8 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Tomas L. Garcia, his mother Teresa S. Solis, and nephew Carlos R. Garcia. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 6:00pm-9:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 12:00pm at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, with U.S. Army Honors. Those in attendance will follow the Covid-19 safety protocols by wearing masks and social distancing.
