Salvador “Charles” Alvarado Ramos Sr. went to be with the lord on November 12, 2024, surrounded by family at the age of 93 years old. He was born to Serapio and Louisa Ramos on April 8, 1931, in Karnes City, TX. Salvador was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 and bravely fought in the Korean War. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans. His courage, dedication, and service to his country were a testament to his character and values. Beyond his military service, he was a man of deep faith and had an unwavering devotion to God, values he instilled in his family and carried with him throughout his life. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Salvador served as a church elder, served on the church property board and served as a staff member of the church thrift store. Salvador knew the importance of being an active parent at his children’s schools. He was a Lifetime Member of the PTA and President of the Wheatley Band Booster Club. He served his community as President of the Riverside Park Neighborhood Association. Salvador’s warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched countless lives and left an undeniable mark on all who were fortunate to know him. He was a devoted family man. He was a beloved son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, who cherished family gatherings and celebrations. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros, and Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, and the love he so freely shared with those around him. He was preceded in death by Mary Alice (Wife), Salvador Charles Jr. (Son). He is survived by his children, Lucy Ann Ramos Castillo (Joe), Patricia Hires (Dennis), Felix Roy Ramos (Roxanne); grandchildren, Ronnie (Leslie), Chris, Jessica, Jennifer, Zachary (Mayra), Ashley; great-grandchildren, Mariya, Mason, A.J., Annabella, Johanna, Ian, Ethan, Camila, Elias, Rowan, Isla, and Nahuytl. Surviving siblings include Helen Cote (Phil), Antonia Villareal, and Mary Ramos (Javier) and many nieces and nephews. Salvador lived a life of faith, purpose, love, and service. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. At Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, public visitation for Mr. Ramos will be on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 5-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 3pm with an interment service immediately following at Mission Burial Park South.
