Sandy Chapman, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in San Antonio on May 31, 2026. She was born in San Antonio on July 17, 1940, to parents Homer and Margaret (Tschirhart) Storbeck. She attended St. Henry’s Elementary and Incarnate Word High School graduating in 1958. Sandy was employed at San Antonio Corporation Court. It was there where she met the love of her life, Phil Chapman. They married at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church on October 24, 1959. They made their home in San Antonio making a life of love and memories for the next 66 years. They were blessed with 4 children, Phillip Jr., David, Marguerite, and Stephen. Sandy had a full life filled with love for her family, gardening and her many pets through the years. One of her greatest pleasures was entertaining her family during the holidays. She enthusiastically embraced every season, every holiday and her home was lovingly decorated inside and out. Family holidays were fun-filled occasions, always with endless platters of food, laughter and gifts for all. Everyone was invited and welcome and greeted with warmth and hospitality. Sandy was blessed with a green thumb, her yard and many plants proving her abilities to transform her surroundings with effortless gardening skills. Crafting ceramics was also one of her hobbies. She presented many of her creations to family as gifts that are cherished pieces lovingly made by her hands. Sandy may no longer be here with us, but her legacy, her faith and her light will shine on. She loved her family and they loved her back and she will be forever missed. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Margaret Storbeck, her in-laws Phillip and Jeanette (Doan) Chapman, daughter Marguerite, brother Bubba (Homer Jr.) Storbeck, sister Betty Jo Storbeck. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Phil, her son Phillip Jr. (Karen), David (Christy), and Stephen. Grandchildren, Nicole Ethridge (Garrett), Tyler Chapman (Kalie), Matthew Chapman (Kayla), Trevor Chapman, Ryan Chapman, Megan Dickerson (Chris), Amber Chapman, Jordan Chapman, Michael Chapman (Katlyn), Taylor Garrett (Cristina), Emily Garrett, and numerous great-grandchildren. Sisters Patti Storbeck, Robbin Hans, brothers Buddy Storbeck, Henry Storbeck. Funeral services are set for June 23, 2026, at Mission Park Funeral Chapel, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio, Tx. Visitation begins at 10am and services at 11am.
