In Loving Memory of Santiago M. De Jesus, Jr. “Jimmy” Santiago M. De Jesus, Jr., affectionately known as “Jimmy,” left this world on November 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. His departure has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Jimmy was born on June 18, 1956 in Guayama, Puerto Rico. Throughout his life, he embodied the values of hard work, dedication, and compassion. Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Lou De Jesus, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished moments. Their love story served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they navigated life’s joys and challenges with unwavering commitment and love. A pillar of strength and guidance, Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of his six children: Julie Gimbel, Sonia Martinez (and husband Diego), Erma de Jesus Curtis (and her husband Chad), Brenda De la Rosa (and her husband Sam), Jimmy De Jesus (and his wife Sandra), and Homar De Jesus (and his wife Fabiola) and Anthony Elizondo whom he loved as his own. Each one carries a piece of his wisdom and kindness, a testament to the indelible mark he made on their lives. Jimmy was a doting grandfather and his influence extended to his 16 grandchildren, April (James) Burkett, Louren (Ozzy) Tiscareno, George (Tonya) Gimbel, Anthony Elizondo, Jr., Clay (Adriana) Gimbel, Chelsea Gimbel, Serena De Jesus, Belicia Martinez, Elisa De Jesus, Alyxa Martinez, Ethan De la Rosa, Jaxx De Jesus, Ean De la Rosa, Zane De Jesus, Xyla De Jesus and Gunner De Jesus, who carry the torch of his love and wisdom. His eyes would light up with joy at the sight of each grandchild, and his love for them was immeasurable. Additionally, Jimmy was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, each a living testament to the enduring legacy of family that he leaves behind. Born into a loving family, Jimmy is also survived by his brothers, George De Jesus (and his wife Janie), Edgar De Jesus (and his wife Dora), Noel Morales, and Edwin De Jesus. His memory will be forever cherished by extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jimmy’s presence brought joy, laughter, and a sense of unity to those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his love and kindness. A memorial service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on December 6, 2023, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Mission Park South, 1700 S.E. Military Dr., San Antonio, TX 78214 May he rest in eternal peace, and may the memories of his love and laughter bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
