Sarah Elaine Durda Sultenfuss was born May 31, 1945 on the southeast side of San Antonio to Sam Durda and Nevelyn Tanner Rice. In 1960 at the age of 15 years old she met the love of her life, Clarence Sultenfuss, Jr. Clarence’s cousin Margaret introduced them that one fateful day and from that moment on they became each other’s life. On July 9, 1965, Clarence did the honor of making Sarah his wife. Sarah and Clarence had 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. They loved them all dearly. After a lifetime of over sixty years together, Clarence was by Sarah’s side when she went to join the Lord on October 16, 2020 at 3 p.m. Sarah was also surrounded by her daughter Christine, her son Cody and many other family members, friends and loved ones. She loved her family dearly and sacrificed so much throughout her life to make sure theirs was better. She always encouraged her children and grandchildren to do their absolute best. Sarah was known by many different names over the years. First and foremost, she was a loving and dedicated wife, Mom, Nana, Nan, Grandma, Granny, Sister and Clarence’s special baby. Sarah loved all kinds of music and loved to play it loud. She loved to work in the garden, plant roses, hibiscus, and many other beautiful flowers that she would proudly tell you “are only found in a grandma’s garden”. There will be a tremendous void in the hearts of many now that she is gone. Her faith in God was strong and she would tell you “it’s only temporary and God is anywhere your heart is”. Visitation is Thursday October 22, 2020 5pm-8pm, with a rosary at 6:30pm held at Dellcrest Funeral Home located at 2023 WW White Rd, San Antonio, Texas. Funeral mass will be Friday, October 23, 2020 1:00pm at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church located at 16506 Kilowatt Rd, Elmendorf, Tx 78112. Dinner will be served to those who would like to join Clarence and his family in celebrating the memory of Sarah at Bexar Co Livestock show grounds located at 7701 FM 1346, San Antonio, behind Martinez Hall. Sarah will be cremated and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bexar County Jr Livestock Show, the Sarah Sultenfuss memorial scholarship fund. Donations can be mailed to BCLS at P.O.
