Sharon Lorraine Erickson passed away on Sunday February 12, 2023 at the age of 62. She was the daughter of Jack and Janice Neimeier. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 23, 1960. She completed training as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in her final year at Edison High School in San Antonio. She served as a nurse in a variety of areas including nursing homes, hospital medical surgical units and hemodialysis units. Her final nursing job was at University Hospital San Antonio Texas where she worked as a dialysis nurse. She earned an Associate Degree in Psychology at Bellville Area College, Illinois and was selected to be a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. She worked in a variety of roles including Daycare, Sewing Machine sales and Bookkeeping. But she loved being a home maker and took pleasure in creating a warm, inviting home. Sharon's passion was quilting. She loved to create beautiful, highly detailed wall quilts and full sized bed quilts. Many family and friends were given quilts uniquely designed and crafted for them. She was known to create quilts for people she met who she felt would benefit from one. Her sewing room remains alive with several projects that she had started. Sharon had a loving, giving heart. She would reach out to people who needed help taking them under her wing and offering love, support and a caring ear. There are many young men and women who would say they were living better lives because of her. Her giving, caring nature was one of her best attributes. Sharon is survived by her husband Leslie, her daughter Ashley, Sister Debbie Batto, brother Mark Neimeier and his family, her brother in law Dennis Erickson, her nieces Kimberly Arispe, Leslie Strodtman, Nicole and Meagan, Theresa Robledo. Her nephews Ethan Erickson, Cody Erickson, Daniel Erickson, sister in laws Sherri Erickson, Marinda Neimeier, Cousin Annette Schwab and her dear friend Annie Keim. She leaves behind her dear fur babies Tessa, Penny, Maya and Lucy. Sharon was an extraordinary woman who touched many lives generating many close, treasured family ties and friendships. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. In lieu of flowers or plants her family suggests donating to the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, a local food bank or the charitable organization of your choice. Sharon's personal totem was the Canada Goose. She loved to be around them to see them fly or raise their young. You are free to fly with your geese now sweet lady. Visitation will be one hour prior to her 12:00 p.m., Celebration of Life service on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North which will conclude in chapel. Interment on Monday March 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
