Sharon Helen Woldhagen, 80, passed away on May 18, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas. Sharon was born on April 19, 1946, in Tampa, Florida. At the age of three, she moved with her parents to San Antonio, where she remained a proud South Texan for the rest of her life. During her youth, Sharon’s family was actively involved in the San Antonio community and the Woodlawn Methodist Church, later known as University Methodist Church. While attending Thomas Jefferson High School, she was a member of the Lasso Rope and Dance Team. Sharon went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Texas Tech University. Early in her career, she taught a variety of subjects at Southwest and Poteet Independent School Districts. She later served as the Director of Public Relations and Food Services for Southwest ISD in San Antonio, where she dedicated more than 20 years before retiring. Sharon raised her daughters in Poteet, Texas, where she lived on a ranch for 30 years. She was deeply involved in the community, contributing her time and talents to the Poteet Methodist Church and the Poteet Strawberry Festival. She also served on the Board of Directors for the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo for a number of years. In 1998, Sharon returned to San Antonio, where she remained actively engaged in her faith and community. She was a devoted member of University Methodist Church, singing in the choir and participating in numerous service initiatives alongside cherished friends. Sharon embraced her Norwegian heritage, especially through treasured family recipes she lovingly prepared for special occasions. She had a passion for singing, gardening, and traveling with friends. She was also known for her talents as a seamstress, cook, and baker, and for hosting warm, memorable gatherings that brought loved ones together. Sharon’s wisdom, resilience, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Scarlett Collums Richardson and Heidi Collums Garcia; grandchildren, Zayana, Emiliano Jr., Jim Palmer Garcia; and longtime parter, Homero Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North: 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio, TX. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at University Methodist Church: 5084 De Zavala Road, San Antonio, TX. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
