Shirley Ann Keyser, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on March 10, 2012 at the age of 88. Her parents were Anna & Tom Ereon. She was predeceased by her late husband of 63 years, Eugene Maynard Keyser. Shirley was born in Lilly Dale, New York on September 29, 1923. Mom was raised in Ludington, Michigan. She was one of seven children. She is survived by her brother, Jack Ereon, and sister, Joanne Greiner. Shirley & Gene had two children: Susan Keyser and Tom Keyser & his wife Constance Lindsey. She also is survived by a daughter-in-law, Harriet Keyser Lopez, three grandchildren: Shane & Erin Keyser El Paso, Mike and fiancée Pam Rothe San Antonio, Erin & Jeff Davis Denver. Shirley was also blessed with three great grandchildren as well, Caroline Davis, Jay Davis and Abram Eugene Keyser. Shirley enjoyed her single days growing up in Ludington, Michigan a couple blocks from the beach. She married her love, Eugene, in 1946 when WWII ended. They moved to Dad's home town, Cumberland, Maryland and raised a family. She loved to work in her garden. Mom had a green thumb and raised beautiful flowers. Shirley was also very skilled at doing needlework. Mom was a great cook. Her famous recipes have been passed down to her children and grandchildren. Mom also worked part-time as a dispatcher on the B&O Railroad. She and Dad passed down the importance of an Education and good work ethic to their children and grandchildren. Mom was involved with Hospice and St Patrick's Church back in Cumberland. She had a great life, loved to travel and will be missed by all who knew her. The Keyser Family also wants to express our deep gratitude to Maria "Miss Maggie" Aguilar, for her service, commitment and excellent care giving to Shirley over the last two years. SERVICES A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North from 6:00-9:00 PM with a prayer vigil to begin at 7 PM. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home in Cumberland, Maryland. A church service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Cumberland, Maryland.
