Our beloved mother, Silvia T. Uriegas, gently and peacefully went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving children. Silvia was born on February 25, 1941, in Tuxtilla, Veracruz, Mexico, to Tómas Toledo and Rebeca Hernández. From a young age, she demonstrated remarkable talent as a seamstress, dedicating herself to her craft with skill and care. Alongside her work, Silvia found joy in gardening and singing, pursuits that brought her fulfillment and allowed her to express her creativity. Silvia's warmth extended beyond her immediate family; she welcomed friends into her home and treated them as family. Her laugh was contagious, and her loving heart made those around her feel comfortable and valued. Silvia possessed a gentle strength that inspired everyone she met, often thinking of others before herself. She was known for her generosity and giving nature, yet she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Her life was deeply rooted in faith, family, and devotion. Silvia leaves behind a legacy of love, one that will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. For all these fine qualities and more, she was a wonderful woman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio Uriegas; her parents; her siblings, Tómas, Evangelina, José Antonio, and Alicia “Yizi”; her second parents, Alicia Hernández and Manuel Franco; her uncle José Luis Hernández; and her grandfather, Luis Hernández. Silvia is survived by her children, Susan Uriegas, Albert Uriegas and his wife Melinda, and Isabel Uriegas Kovalski and her husband Samuel; her beloved grandson, Javier Gabriel Uriegas; her brothers and sisters, Edmundo, Alberto, Elia, Laura, Cristina, Carmen, Rosa, and Manuel; along with numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory always. SERVICES On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Mission Park Medical Center, 8332 Fredericksburg Road. On Wednesday, April 8, 2026 the Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church 1701 Clower. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Road.
