Born in Laredo, Texas on May 18, 1966, to Maria de Jesus Terrazas, and was a graduate of United High School. Sonia is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother but most importantly, for her unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Family, relatives, and friends were blessed knowing her love for the Lord and her wonderful personality and disposition. One of her favorite bible verses was Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible". Sonia impacted the lives of children in Laredo and San Antonio working in several public and private schools. She was also a Girl Scout leader serving as an exemplary role model for members in her Girl Scouts Troops #100 and #140. Sonia and her family are members of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas. Special thanks to Dr. Anu Dham and all the doctors, nurses and staff from Wings, Cancer Centers of Texas and Metropolitan Oncology Unit for the special care Sonia received. Sonia is preceded in death by her father-in-law Gabino Cedillo Jr of Laredo, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband Gavino Cedillo III, son Gavino IV, daughter Kimberly Anne Cedillo, grandson Zion Xavier Lozano, mother Maria de Jesus Terrazas, sister Blanca E. Perez Oscar, nieces Christine D. Perez Gomez David, Jessica D. Pena Antonio, and nephew Oscar D. Perez. Other family members, mother-in-law Maria De Luz Cedillo, sister-in-laws Lupita Manuel Garcia, Anna Maria Roel Esparza, Julia Carlos Cruz, brothers-in-law Adrian Diana Cedillo, Adan Diana Cedillo, and Rodrigo Meli Cedillo and many nieces and nephews. Prayer services will be held on Sunday May 4th, from 5:00 p.m. 9:00 pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapel 3401 Cherry Ridge San Antonio, Tx. Committal services will be held on Monday May 5th beginning with a prayer service at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church 18755 Stone Oak Parkway San Antonio, Tx., followed by burial Mission Memorial Park-Retama North East 15940 Lookout Road San Antonio, Tx. and returning to the church for a luncheon.
