Stella De La Cruz, age 63, entered peacefully into eternal rest on May 3, 2024, at her home after a valiant fight against cancer. Stella was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who dedicated her life to God, family, friends and her career. Stella came from humble beginnings and through her strength and unwavering commitment to hard work, she was successful in accomplishing many career and family goals. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren, her grand-dogs and had life-long relationships with many friends. She also loved her Dallas Cowboys. Her milestones include a loving marriage to Jesus for 42 years, the births of her children and a career of thirty-one years of success in the legal sector. She was appreciative of her most recent position as a Legal Assistant with Gonzalez, Chiscano, Angulo, and Kasson, PC. She valued and embraced the relationships with her colleagues who treated her like family. Stella is now in a better place with her parents; George and Consuelo Arispe Ovalle and her son, Raul Ovalle. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jesus De La Cruz, sons, Andrew Rodolfo, Jr., Gabriel De La Cruz Sr. and wife, Sonia, and Jacob Daniel De La Cruz and wife, Jasmine. Stella is the second of four siblings to sister, Dolores Gomez, brothers, George “Gino” Ovalle and wife, Carol, and Mario Ovalle. Her grandchildren are Marisa Ovalle and husband, Juan Esquivel, Jazlyn, Julian and Jewel Ovalle, Gabriel De La Cruz, Jr., Roman Jesus, Jesus Saul and Natalia Camila De La Cruz. She has one great grandson, Elias Raul Ovalle. Stella also leaves behind an extended family that includes numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stella will be remembered for hosting family celebrations with her delicious and carefully planned homemade meals. During the holidays, she demonstrated her enthusiasm and love for her faith through family traditions such as attending church services and events. She was a faithful servant leader in the ACTS community of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Stella was thoughtful, generous and kind, taking extra steps in selecting special gifts for those she loved while never forgetting about those people in need. She was meticulous in the details of her home life and her surroundings demonstrated her discipline and organization in every corner of her life. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend their appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staffs at Texas Oncology, Next Oncology, and Harbour Hospice for the care provided to Stella. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Medical Center. A procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 9:30am from the funeral home chapel, with a 10:00am Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, Texas 78257.
