Susan A. Espinoza-Vargas was born in San Antonio, TX, on September 1, 1971, and went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2026, at the age of 54. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and aunt who found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a deep sense of belonging, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She shared a close and meaningful bond with her parents, Luis and Felipa Espinoza—one built on love, respect, and constant connection. Throughout her life, she remained devoted to them, always present and deeply grateful for the foundation they provided. That same devotion was reflected in the love she had for her nephews, Abram and Isaiah. She cared for them as if they were her own, investing time, energy, and heart into their lives. Through encouragement, curiosity, and constant reminders of what made them special, she helped shape the men they are becoming—an influence that will remain with them always. Rooted in strong family ties, she was surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who played an important role in her life. Alongside them was a large close-knit circle of friends who became like family—relationships built on loyalty, laughter, and deep connection. She celebrated life’s joys with them, stood steady through life’s challenges, and filled their time together with memories that will never fade. At the center of her life was the beautiful partnership she shared with her husband, Noel Vargas. Their marriage was grounded in friendship, faith, mutual respect, deep love, and unwaivering loyalty. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, care, and steadfast support, truly becoming best friends in every sense. Her professional life reflected that same commitment and connection. She dedicated over 30 years to Alamo Colleges District, where she formed meaningful relationships and left a lasting impact on those around her. Known for her vibrant spirit, she lived boldly and authentically. With her signature blue hair and unmistakable personality, she embraced life fully and without hesitation—never afraid to stand out and always encouraging others to do the same. More than anything, Susan had a heart for others. She made people feel seen, valued, and loved, often through simple yet thoughtful gestures. That kindness and generosity will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Noel Vargas; her loving parents, Luis and Felipa Espinoza; her brother, Andrew Espinoza; her sister-in-law, Mireya Espinoza; her cherished nephews, Abram Espinoza and Isaiah Espinoza; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. Visitation will begin on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church with a rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church with a 9:30 a.m. procession from Palm Heights Mortuary. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
