Susan Elizabeth Langhoff (Baumann) passed away in San Antonio, Texas on June 7, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on February 6, 1954, to Leon Walter Baumann and Beatrice Violet Baumann Rickards, Susan lived a life centered on faith, family, and lifelong learning. She met Alan Langhoff at church, and faith remained central in their lives together. They married on December 29, 1973, and spent more than fifty years together. Susan was deeply involved in church throughout her life, participating in Bible study groups and teaching Sunday school alongside Alan for many years, something her children remember growing up around and helping with themselves. Susan was a lifelong learner and deeply proud of returning to school later in life. After attending San Antonio College when she was younger, she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2002, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. She later earned her MBA from Wayland Baptist University in 2005, receiving the AT&T Award for Outstanding Graduate. Earlier in life, she graduated as salutatorian of her class at Harlandale High School. Her professional career began at Wayside Chapel before moving into executive compensation work at SBC, later AT&T, and ultimately Tesoro Corporation, where she served as Stock and Director Plan Administrator until retirement. She brought diligence, intelligence, and care to everything she worked on. Susan kept her mind active and curious to the very end. She loved Wordle, board games at family gatherings, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. In earlier years she enjoyed sewing clothes, curtains, and upholstery projects for the home. She loved garage sales, estate sales, craft shows, antiques, and collectibles, and many of her favorite finds still fill the family home. She enjoyed mornings at the Pearl farmers market, cheering for the Houston Astros and San Antonio Spurs, and spending time with the people she loved most. Above all, she loved being a grandmother to Griffey and Corbin, and she was overjoyed to know another grandson is expected later this year. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Beatrice Baumann; and her sister, Karen Brysch. She is survived by her beloved husband, Alan Langhoff; her children, Courtney Lee Brewer and Jason Alan Langhoff; her grandchildren, Griffey Brewer and Corbin Brewer (Courtney’s boys); and a baby boy (Jason’s son) expected to arrive in October. Susan is greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
