Suzanne Eggers Boyd, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend went to be with our Lord on September 13th, 2005, at the age of 80, after a year long battle with cancer. Born May 13th, 1925, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to William and Gladys Eggers, she was raised in Des Moines, Iowa. At age 6, she met Patricia Patty Jean Weisinger, who remained her best friend for more than 74 years. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1947, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. There she met the love of her life, William Rufus Boyd, whom she married in 1949. She traveled the world with her husband during his careers in the military, RCA, and throughout their retirement. She enjoyed working with her husband for many years at The Psychological Corporation, until their retirement in 2004. As an only child, her greatest desire was to have a large family, at which she succeeded by having 10 children and 13 grandchildren. Her loving and giving spirit was evident by her never missing one of her childrens activities and achievements, whether large or small, and always celebrated with a cake and pictures. She was a wonderful mother, always had a forgiving heart, and was a great role model. She always stressed the importance of education, and encouraged all of her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Suzanne became a devout Catholic in her early 20's. She belonged to Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic minister and lector for many years until she became ill. She also served as an RCIA sponsor with her husband for new catechumens for several seasons and enjoyed the social aspects of the churchs Los Amigos club. She is survived by and will surely be missed by her loving husband, William; her son, Michael Charles Boyd, and his wife, Regina, and grandsons, Kevin Patrick and Christopher Michael; her daughter, Patricia Ann Kramper, and her husband, James, and granddaughters, Joy Marie and Colleen Suzanne; her daughter, Mary Suzanne Fenlon, and grandchildren Eric Paul and Nicole Alexis; her daughter, Julia Elizabeth Seeberger, and her fiance, Brian Wilcox, and grandchildren, Kaitlin Elizabeth, Colin Michael, and Meghan Kathleen; her daughter Catherine Joan Edinger, and her husband, A. J. Rothburg, and grandson, William Joseph Edinger; her sons Daniel William Boyd, Thomas Patrick Boyd, Stephen Francis Boyd, and Christopher John Boyd, and granddaughters, Brittney Nicole, Jessica Taylor, and Kayli Alexis; and her daughter, Theresa Louise Boyd. Her precious cat, Prudence, will miss her as well. Her family appreciates the tender and compassionate care provided to her by Dr. Michael Sunborg and the staff at Brooke Army Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Holy Spirit Catholic School Guardian Angel Fund, 770 W. Ramsey, San Antonio, Texas 78216, in memory of Suzanne E. Boyd. SERVICES Visitation will be held from 5:00 9:00 PM Monday, September 19, 2005 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North 3401 Cherry Ridge. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 8134 Blanco Rd. San Antonio, TX 78216 with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
