Tributes

Our mother Teresa M. Dela Rosa was given back to heaven to our most gracious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday September 13,2023 (94). Mother was given to us by our Lord and Savior on Sunday April 14,1929 Mom lived a long and fulfilling life that we all played a part in making memories with her, whether it was just time spent with her, praying with her, cooking with her, traveling with her, playing board games or dominoes or helping her to find a word in her word find books etc. She exemplified a life of a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. Mom would wake early most days making breakfast hot and fresh. She would make some of the best meals to include her flying saucer homemade tortillas!!! Mom made some of the best enchiladas and fideo!!! She definitely made food stirred with love! Mom made alot of our clothes and even some of our costumes for play or for school functions. Mom could also iron like no other trying her best to teach us and any one else she could. I remember one time her telling me she even ironed our sheets and pillowcases and even daddy's drawers (as they were once called). Mom taught us how to sew and cut a pattern. Mom taught us the love of gardening. Mom worked at a drug store owned by one of her sister-in-law's husband Henry Tenorio and she would tell us her trick on how to make the best ice cream cone....you pack the cone first with ice cream then top it with a big scoop of ice cream on top!!! She loved the stars. She would tell about growing up in the country as a little girl. She would tell you about the Big dipper, the little dipper and so on. I had a star nightlight in her room so she could always be surrounded by her stars, now she is in the stars to forever be admired. Mom worked hard but smart all of her life, whether it was to earn pay or being the best wife, mother, and Nana that she could be. She was a survivor, after daddy passed away mom would clean houses and offices (I would help her), she even had an at home daycare. When she would learn new ways of doing things she would do her best to teach us! She left a legacy for sure! Mom had a beautiful smile that would light up her face and the room with gladness (Smile by: Nat King Cole). Mom's heart was filled with happiness with words she would recieve from God's word daily!!! She would wake up watching mass on the Catholic Channel and go to bed praying her rosary. Mom enjoyed Mother Angelica too. Mom made sure we were taught the love of the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ! Mom was active in her earlier years at St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church. Her and daddy raised us together in the St. Gregory parish. Mom helped in CCD, Legion of Mary, Senior Luncheons with Julia Bendele, Eucharistic ministry, Alter Society, and the prayer group. Mom later enjoyed St. Mary Magdalen prayer group. Mother is proceeded in death by her parents Frank James Morales and Ofilia M. Morales, her other mother Manuela G. Morales, our father Isidro Dela Rosa, her brothers Rudy, Alfred, Jimmy, and Robert, her sisters Cecilia, Betty Jean, and Magdalena. Mother is survived by her sister Ofilia M. Walker, her children John Richard (Estella), Cynthia Louise, Marie Denise (Eli), Philip Anthony (Denise), Marian Rey (Scott), Veronica Ann (Mike), Tom known to her as her favorite son-in-law, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, cousins, and friends. A few things in my opinion mom would want us to remember: 1. Love the Lord with all your heart! 2. Pray your rosary! 3. Make your bed! 4. Use vinegar to shine the faucets! 5. Never use old masa to make tortillas! 6. Always use Gebhardt Chili powder! 7. Never forget to put your lipstick on! Mom, you are gone from this world only to live forever in HIS glory!!! Until we meet again you will always be loved and cherished!!!
