Teresita (Terry) Paiz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on January, 11th, 2024 at the age of 77. Born on October 19th, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Natalio and Carmen Soto. Terry was predeceased by her parents, Natalio and Carmen Soto, her brother Guadalupe Soto, and her sister San Juanita Garza. Terry is survived by her husband of 58 years Marcos M. Paiz, children Athena (Tina) Mattingly (Mark), Toni Moryl (Steve), Theresa Paiz, Rebecca Paiz (Mike) and Marcos M. Paiz, Jr. (Rick); grandchildren Kristin Allison (Tyler), Robert Paiz (Simon), Adrianna Moryl Ramos (Ray), Patricia Ledford (Drew), Dorian Sandoval (Vanessa), Axton Sadowski, Sarah Moryl, Joey Sadowski, Stephen Moryl Jr. (Tela), and Marcos Mares and great grandchildren Albury Sadowski, Jaxon Sandoval, Beau Allison, Jericho Ledford, Bennett Allison and Diana Ledford. She is also survived by her siblings Rudolph Soto Sr. (Cathy), Mary Martin (Ray), and Gloria Feliciano (Carlos). On November 27, 1965, our mother married our father at just 19 years old. Their first child was born exactly 9 months and one day later. She would go on to have 4 more children. She spent her entire adult life caring for her husband, her children and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted mother who spent many years volunteering as room parent and was very active in the PTC at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic School. One of her many achievements was serving as president of the PTC. She also successfully ran the school’s Halloween carnivals for several years. She worked as a PE teacher’s aide at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic School in the late 80’s to late 90’s. She loved caring for children and was always firm, but kind. One of our favorite memories was of her teaching line dancing to her PE class. She was a wonderful cook and an even better baker. She was famous for her apple pies and her flour tortillas. Her apple pies were award winning and highly sought after. She lovingly passed that award winning recipe down to her children and grandchildren. She was very witty and had the best sense of humor. She lived life authentically and was a woman of faith. She was a devout Catholic until the end. She will be dearly missed but her legacy will live on through her family and recipes. Pall bearers will be her grandchildren Kristin Allison, Robert Paiz, Dorian Sandoval, Axton Sadowski, Joey Sadowski and Stephen Moryl Jr. Her grandchildren Adrianna Moryl Ramos and Marcos Mares will do the readings at her mass. We would like to thank her doctors and nurses with Enhabit Hospice especially Carolina, Kaitland and Cherie and Fire Station #9. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, 1700 SE Military Dr., San Antonio, TX 78214. On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, a procession from Mission Park Funeral Chapels South will start at 11:30 am to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1314 Fair Ave., 78223, where there will be a funeral mass celebrated at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
