Thomas Henry Kloss Born in Minneapolis, MN on August 3, 1922 Departed on April 23, 2011 and resided in San Antonio, Texas Tom Kloss joined the Lord and his beloved wife, LuVerne, at the age of88. They were happily married for 63 years. He will be greatly missed by his five children and their spouses, grand and great grandchildren, Tim & Frances Kloss Chris Sipes, Todd & Lynn Kloss Taylor & Mark and Sterling Weeks; Travis Kloss, Terry & Barney Tearney Brett & Starre and Parker Tearney; Bryce Tearney, Tina & Mario Roth Micah & Elizabeth and Ethan, Luke, Addison & Olivia Wrase; Ben & Cassie and Grace, Jonah & Oliver Wrase; Jessica & Reed Milliken; Kristen Wrase; Rachel and Memphis Roth; Brandon and Hunter Roth, Trudy & Steve Grothues Hollyand Heather. His sister, Audrey Anderson and her husband Andy also survive him. As in many families there are many more extended family members and friends that are close to our hearts at this time. !om loved his family dearly and would do everything in his power for them. He moved to Texas from Minnesota to make LuVerne happy, as she loved the warmer weather. It was hard raising five children and making ends meet so after several ventures including the Kloss' Egg Ranch they settled on and were eventually very successful owning and operating Suburban Child Care Center/Happy Acres Day Camp for 20 years. They truly made a difference in the lives of so many. Tom enjoyed spending time at the coast as well as their Dunlap lake house and their place in the New Mexico Mountains. As a young man he joined the Naval Reserve and was drafted into the war as a 17 year old not even out of high school to be attached to the Marines as a medic. Tom was away from home for 5 years and was awarded many citations including the Silver Star and a Purple Heart He was very humble regarding his service and never emphasized the many sacrifices he made. Tom was an exceptional man, always kind and thoughtful, with a true servants heart He was an active member of Oxford United Methodist Church even helping to found it In lieu of flowers, if you should desire, a donation can be made to a memorial fund in Tom's name at Oxford located at 9655 Huebner Road, 78240. You are invited to attend an outdoor gathering at Frances and Tim's home, which was Tom and Lu's previous home at 5335 Encino Park Road ...on Saturday, May 21 stat 3:00 in the afternoon. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff from The Lodge at Leon Springs for taking such good care of both Tom and Lu. Vitas Hospice was very helpful as well.
