Thomas Dudley Turner III went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 25, 2023 at 89, with his loving family by his side. Dudley was born on March 25, 1934 in Quito, Ecuador in South America. Together with his beautiful wife Elizabeth (Liz), he raised four daughters, affectionately known as “the Turner girls”, in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by the love of his life of 63 years, Liz; daughter, Kathy Hunt and fiancé Paul Zaldivar, daughter, Barbara Garcia and husband Roger, daughter, Laura Anderson, daughter, Helen Trimble and husband Greg; granddaughters, Lauren and Alyssa Garcia, Courtney and Jordin Trimble; and grandsons, Christopher Hunt and Tyler Thornton, along with his fur baby, Elton. Dudley had an incredible work ethic which was evident in his professional and personal life. After completetion of his bachelor’s degree, he had a successful career with American National Insurance Company as a District Manager. His passion was always to be his best while helping others achieve their best. He was a mentor to many, in all aspects of his life. After over 26 years of hard work, long hours, and many years of traveling, Dudley decided for an early retirement to put further focus on his family. Family was everything to him! Dudley loved nothing more than spending time with his family no matter the occasion, especially the holidays. One of his favorite pastimes was devoting time to his grandchildren and attending all of their events. He was such an amazing grandpa that many who were not his grandchildren would refer to him as “Grandpa Dudley”. He looked forward to weekly lunches with grandchildren, socializing with neighbors on the front porch, and ending the day with a nightly phone call from his daughters and grandchildren. Dudley was so proud of his daughters and grandchildren and loved celebrating their accomplishments. He was always there for his family. Dudley had many other life passions; watching sports, golfing, and spending time with his golf buddies. He was an avid golfer and played remarkably well into his late eighties. Dudley won numerous Club Championships with a couple holes-in-one: a perfect achievement, just like Dudley. Dudley, Daddy, Grandpa, you will be in our hearts forever. We will miss your devotion to family and friends, your laughter, hugs and kisses, and your contagious smile. You have touched so many lives. Grandpa, you made this world brighter. Private services will be held to celebrate Dudley’s life.
