Timotea Timo Borroel Ruiz, age 84 began her new life with Christ on Friday, December 27, 2013 in San Antonio after succumbing to complications from Parkinson's. She was born in Llano, Texas to Severa and Ignacio Borroel. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, MSgt Ret Sammy Ruiz. She is survived by her children: Sylvia R. Crowley Tol Edwin, Elaine Susan Sulie Osborn Tony Ray & Sammy Ruiz, Jr., grandchildren: Sammy Blu Ruiz, III Brandi, David Jude De Young, SSgt Tony Ray Osborn, Jr., Derek Ryan Ruiz, Jennifer & Kathleen Crowley; great-grandchildren: Gabriel & Abigaile Lynn Ruiz; beloved sister, Lucia Berban; brothers-in-law: Augustine Ruiz Irene & Raul Ruiz Carol; sister-in-law, Victoria Serrano; cousin: Ramona Torres; nieces: Esther Muro & Natividad Elias; lifelong best friend Eva Mae Morin Flores along with numerous other nieces & nephews. She was a lifetime member and past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 25 of San Antonio, Texas. She worked tirelessly, ardently and lovingly with her husband while he was the past Region and Chapter Commander, to support and foster causes for the DAV and their families. She retired from FSH Post Exchange after over fifteen years of service. She bravely endured the affects of Parkinson's with humor and faith. The family wishes to send a heartfelt thanks to the following: Col Ret Eleanor E. Avery, MD and Maj Anand Shah, MD for their unwavering care. The family also wishes to extend unparalleled thanks to Josie Carbajal and Johna Smith for their attentiveness; along with VITAS Hospice Health Care Providers who so diligently cared for her during her last months. The family is also grateful for the Presentation Sisters for their unyielding love and prayerful support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, Inc. or DAV Chapter 25 of San Antonio, Texas. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 beginning at 6:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Dewhurst Ave. The Mass of the Resurrection will be on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, concelebrated by Rev. Jeremiah McCarthy OMSC, Rev. Dennis Jarzombek and Rev. Rudy Carrola. Interment with her husband, will be at FSH National Cemetery.
