Tommi L. Reinhardt Smoot went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 72. She was born to Thomas Chester Reinhardt and Carol Agda Feldt on December 11, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas at Santa Rosa Hospital. She is preceeded in death by her parents, her brother Jack H Reinhardt and her in-laws Earl M. Smoot and Gladys M. Smoot. Her parents are buried at Sunset Memorial Park. Her paternal grandparents are buried in Pleasanton and great grandparents are buried in Elmendorf. Tommi's maternal grandfather is buried in Somerset and her grandmother is buried in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Her maternal great grandmother is buried in Glasgow, Montana. Tommi is survived by her loving husband of 56 years of marriage, Norman Earl Smoot, her brother H. Chester Reinhardt, son Timothy D. Smoot, daughter Debra Lynn Smoot Forshey and husband David Forshey. Her grandchildren include Stephanie Smoot Borrego and husband Vince Borrego, Justin Smoot and Collin Forshey, great grandsons Dylan Smoot and Tristan Borrego. Tommi also has numerous nieces and nephews. Tommi was of German descent on her father's side and Swedish on her mother's side. Tommi attended Somerset High School and then continued her dream of becoming a teacher after graduating from Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor's degree in education. She also ran her own jewelry business. Tommi was one of the Founding Directors at Somerset National Bank. She also enjoyed traveling, her favorite destination being Paris. Her many talents included being an expert seamstress, artist, cooking and baking and tending to her bluebonnets. Tommi was always there for her family, whether it was leaving early to take her daughter to band practice or attending her son's baseball games. She was the "volunteer grandmother" for grand kids, helping with fundraisers or whatever was needed. Her husband states, "She was a wonderful wife and I thank God for this woman." During her days here with us she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends giving us a lifetime of love and memories. Tommi will be greatly missed but never forgotten. The family would like to express their gratitude to the following doctors for their exceptional care; Doctors Robert Zajak, Alexander Roka and Arnold Vardiman. We would also like to thank Jolene Lopez, Susan Lambert, Gwen and LeeRoy Petersen, Walt Harfmann and Wolfgang Fey for their support of Tommi. Pallbearers: H. Chester Reinhardt, Kevin Reinhardt, Collin Forshey, Dylan Smoot, David Forshey, Michael Dean Williams Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South from 5-8pm. Services will continue at the funeral home Friday, September 25, 2015 at 9:00am. Interment to follow at Old Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset, TX.
