It is with great sadness, that the family of Velma V. Jackson announces her passing on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the age of 75. Velma was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 26,1945 to Narciso and Anita Villarreal. Throughout her adult life Velma always worked, even well past her retirement years. She waitressed for a couple of years then worked for retail stores for several years. She then spent the last 24 years working as a customer service representative with mostly Valero and most recently Circle K convenience stores. Velma truly enjoyed her job, especially making lifelong friends with many co-workers and several regular customers. Velma will always be remembered for her spunkiness, her great sense of humor and her warm, welcoming smile. Velma was blessed to have lived her life to the fullest even with her health adversities. She often enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her two fur babies (Hennessey aka Henny and Penny) and scratching lottery tickets. She is survived by her sister: Irene Alvarado, daughters: Sonia Rye and Donna Elstak, son-in-law’s: Seth Rye and Everett Elstak, grandchildren: Hayley Gomez, Lyndsay Elstak, Kyle Elstak, and Ethan Rye, great granddaughter Jaymie Robles, 9 nieces and 3 nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Letti Ramirez. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Start Center and the Kindred Hospice (SAN MARCOS) staff. In addition, to all extended family and friends for their love, support and prayers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
