Vicente Tapia Sr. was called home to be with his Lord on February 18, 2021, at the age of 78. He was born January 1, 1943, in Texas and has lived in Texas his whole life. He was married to his love, Mary C. Tapia for 50 years before the Lord called her home in May 2013. He is survived by his son Vincent (and Lesley) Tapia Jr; his grandchildren, Nicole (and Mario), Aaron and Hailey (and Michael); and his great-grandchildren, Lanalyn, Orin and Lucio. Also, by his sister Dorothy Vasquez and sister-in-law Herminia (Minnie) Zamora and many nieces and nephews. Vicente spent many years driving to support his family… but he loved his chainsaw the most! Along with his son, they began D&D Tree Service and worked alongside each other for many years. You would often hear him tell his son aww Didi! He also enjoyed playing golf any chance he could get. He loved his family and friends more than anything and always made it a point to call everyone during the holidays to wish them well. He was one of the most generous men you could have met. He would give the shirt off his back or his last dollar to anyone that needed help, and was always willing to lend a hand. God gave us the privilege of sharing this wonderful man. We are all better people for the influence, guidance, and wisdom he gave to each of us. The memories, love and laughter shared will last forever. The family would like to thank Paulina Eneix with Paulina’s Home Care who provided exceptional care for Vicente for over 2 months and to all of the nurses and caregivers who saw him through his last days. We are forever grateful for the friends he made while with Paulina. The family will receive friends Monday, March 1st beginning at 5:00pm with Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm at Dellcrest Funeral Home, 2023 S WW White Rd, San Antonio, TX 78222. (Rosary will be live streamed). A funeral mass and graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 2nd at 10:00am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 7955 Real Rd, San Antonio, TX 78263.
