KING Victor A. King, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, died in his Lords peace on April 20, 2007. One of seven children, he was born in Huntsville, TX on August 3, 1926 to Thomas and Maude King. After graduation from Huntsville High School, he entered Sam Houston State College. Before graduating, however, he joined the Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged in 1945, after which, he reentered and completed college with a degree in Mathematics. Victor enjoyed a varied business career, serving with Republic Supply as a sales manager, then leaving to start an insurance agency with two associates, Bill Harris and Nat Jefferson. Heritage Insurance Managers, Inc would be this worlds work for him for the next 40 years. He met his one true love, Bettye McClelland while working in Alice Texas. They enjoyed traveling and they made many adventurous trips, including Hawaii and Switzerland and most of the interesting places in the United States. They raised two children, Vicki and Richard, and Vic found himself fully involved in their activities, becoming president of all their various sports and associations during these years. He was faithful to his alma mater and would scout local high school football talent to recruit them to Sam Houston. He was also a lifelong Spurs fan with 35 years of season tickets. Victor was active in his church at Wayside Chapel where he served for many years as usher. He also was devoted to Bible Study Fellowship and recruited many to his mens class. Victor is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bettye, and son Richard and Kim King of New Braunfels, and daughter Vicki and Randy Roberts of Richmond, TX. Surviving Grandchildren include, Drew and Ashley Roberts, San Antonio; Kelli and Dr. Billy Bob Coburn of West Columbia, TX, Whitney, Bryson and Hailey King of New Braunfels, and two great grandchildren, Katelyn Grace Roberts and Luke Alden Coburn. He is also survived by one sister, Doris and her husband Patrick Ryan of Bellaire TX. and numerous nieces and nephews. Service A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm, Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Wayside Chapel.
