Vincent John Novak, age 61 passed away on October 7th, 2022. He was born on August 31st, 1961 in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, New York. He was preceded by his mother Dora, his father Gino, his cousin Diana and Aunt Kay. He is survived by his wife Diana, his three sons Stephen, Daniel and Michael, his best friends Stephen and Nancy, and his favorite girls in the world, Giavanna and Isabella. Vinny loved and enjoyed many things in life. Topping the list was cooking and even more watching others enjoy eating what he made. Bigger was always better for Vinny. He never created a bad meal (except burned black hotdogs on a grill). He prepared meals to die for like Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas Eve lobster and Sunday sauce. He loved music and he loved to share it. He often sent random texts with a song attached. You never knew if it would be a Broadway show tune, 1950’s oldies or the “Sex Pistols”. Vinny could watch the same movies over and over. From “Back to the Future” to “Donnie Brasco”, every time he put those on, you could be fooled into believing it was his first time watching them. Most of all Vinny will be remember for the love he gave. Vinny loved deeply. When Vinny loved you, you knew it. Saying “I love you” came easy to him and he couldn’t help but hug those he cared about. He hugged often and from the heart. He loved his sons to the deepest depths of his heart. He was so proud of them and loved to talk about them to anyone who would listen. In his eyes they were perfect and could do no wrong. They will carry on his memory and live their lives to their fullest, just as he wanted. Some of the best years of his life was spent here in San Antonio. Vinny brought a piece of NY to the Alamo City. He made best friends here that filled his days with laughter. You couldn't help but laugh when he was around. He saw the funny side of everything and had a wise crack for every occasion. He never felt more at home then when he was at “Antiques On Broadway”. He found a home and belonged. Vinny will be missed by so many. He touched so many hearts. His absence will be felt for a long time. Be at peace Vin and know you were loved. He started his journey in Brooklyn and will be laid to rest at Mission Park Funeral Chapel on Brooklyn Avenue in San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be held on Thursdays, October 13, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Service to be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Alamo Funeral Chapels.
