In Memory of Virgilio Roberto Gomez Rentería April 8, 1953 – September 18, 2025 With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Virgilio Roberto Gomez Rentería, a devoted husband, proud father, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, master carpenter, and lover of life, who passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Virgilio was the beloved husband of Maria Elena Gomez, with whom he shared 52 years of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Together, they raised six children, Maria Brown, Roberto Gomez, Alejandro Gomez, Vanessa Chavarria, Ivan Gomez, and Marisol Zavala. Who were the pride and joy of his life. His legacy continues through his siblings, thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren who brought endless light into his days. A true craftsman, Virgilio was a custom carpenter whose hands told stories in wood—shaping, building, and leaving behind work that will endure for generations. He approached every project with passion and precision, just as he did in life. Beyond his work, Virgilio found joy in the rhythm of music and the thrill of the beautiful game of soccer. Whether humming a favorite tune, tapping his foot to a melody, or cheering on a soccer match, his love for music and the sport was infectious. He will be remembered for his strength, humility, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence was a steady anchor, and his warmth touched all who knew him. A celebration of Virgilio’s life will be held on Thursday 09/25/2025 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North beginning at 4:30 PM with a rosary to begin at 6:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring a life so well lived. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, 09/26/2025 at San Fernando Cathedral starting at 10 AM, followed by interment at Mission Burial Park North Dominion. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit, love, and legacy live on in every heart he touched. Rest in peace, Virgilio. Virgilio fue el amado esposo de María Elena Gómez, con quien compartió 52 años de amor, risas y una inquebrantable amistad. Juntos criaron a seis hijos: María Brown, Roberto Gómez, Alejandro Gómez, Vanessa Chavarría, Iván Gómez y Marisol Zavala, quienes fueron el orgullo y la alegría de su vida. Su legado continúa a través de sus hermanos y hemanas, trece nietos y tres bisnietos, quienes iluminaron sus días con luz eterna. Un verdadero artesano, Virgilio era un carpintero a medida cuyas manos contaban historias en madera: moldeando, construyendo y dejando huella en su obra, que perdurará por generaciones. Adoraba cada proyecto con pasión y precisión, como lo hacía en vida. Más allá de su trabajo, Virgilio encontraba alegría en el ritmo de la música y la emoción del fútbol. Ya fuera tarareando su melodía favorita, moviendo el pie al ritmo de una melodía o animando un partido, su amor por la música y el deporte era contagioso. Será recordado por su fortaleza, humildad, sentido del humor y el profundo amor que sentía por su familia. Su presencia fue un ancla firme y su calidez conmovió a todos los que lo conocieron. Se celebrará la vida de Virgilio el 26 de Septiembre en Mission Park North a partir de las 4:30 pm con un rosario a comenzar a las 6:00 PM. Familiares y amigos están invitados a unirse para honrar una vida tan plena. La Misa Catholica seguira el dia siguiente, Septiembre 26, en la Iglesia San Fernando Catedral a las 10 AM. Aunque ya no esté, su espíritu, amor y legado siguen vivos en cada corazón que tocó. Descansa en paz, Virgilio.
