Virginia Barbara Cox "Jenny" Moore, a most extraordinary, loving, compassionate, and unique individual, born February 7, 1921, left this Earth on June 30, 2012, to join our Lord and a host of angels eager to welcome her. Among those rejoicing her in heaven at her arrival are her loving husband, Malcolm Elliott Moore; her adored grandson, James Malcolm Miller; her beloved parents, George A. and Barbara E. Cox; her loyal and loving siblings, Mildred Shannon and Alan Cox; her fun-loving brother-in-law, Bill Shannon; her sweet, handsome nephew, Will Shannon; and a large group of dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Virginia Cox Moore was the purest of souls. She led an exemplary life and was a role-model to those lucky enough to have known her. Her supportive presence was a transformative force in the lives of so many. Our love, admiration, and gratitude pour out to her. Always determined, inquisitive, and adventurous, she had a zest for life. The jobs she held in her earlier years were many and varied. At the age of 52 she graduated from college and started a rewarding teaching career. She enjoyed her students and was a teacher who truly cared. She was a person who knew how to listen to others, an invaluable quality in a good teacher. She was lovingly devoted to her family and was a big fan of family reunions and get-togethers. She enjoyed music, playing cards, and trips or jaunts anywhere. Las Vegas and Ruidoso were favorite and frequent destinations! She was spontaneous, courageous, witty, and hilarious. She was a world of fun to be with and those close to her are privileged to carry on her legacy of living life to the fullest. Virginia will be forever tenderly cradled in the hearts of her survivors: daughter Bonnie Newton husband Robert; daughter Melanie Brown husband Tom; daughter Jennine Miller husband John, sister-in-law Betty Cox, 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association in San Antonio and the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association USA in honor of Virginia. Visitation for Virginia will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapel Tuesday July 3, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. The Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday July 4, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapel. The interment will follow on Thursday July 5, 2012 10 A.M. at Mission Burial Park South.
