"TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE" Will N. Cox, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on March 1, 2012, to go to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by wife, Judith M. Peters-Cox; son, Kim Cox and wife, Linda; Loving adopted children Debra P. Rogers Richard, Sheryl Williams Randy, Kathy Lamoureux Neal; Grandchildren Tobye Kernan Mike, Jim Cox Christina, Joe Cox; Courtney and Lynsey Cox; Krystal A. Chappelle; Preston, Kristin, Valerie and Gwindolyn Williams; Kyle, Sydney and Lynsey Lamoureux; Great-grandchildren Luke and Lauren Kernan, and Gavin Cox. He is further survived by many dear family and friends. Will was preceded in death by his parents, William Newton Cox and Frona Ann Maxwell Cox; brothers, Emmanuel V, Allen V, Marvin W, Claud V, Alvie L Cox and sister, Maurine Ellis Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Cox; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Bruce Chappelle; and son, Gregory T. Peters. Will was proudly born on Flag Day, June 14, 1927, to the humble home of sharecroppers in Maysville, OK. In 1967, Will graduated from the University of Omaha, NB, with a Degree in Business Management. He joined the USAF in April 1948, and retired in June 1979. While in the Air Force, Will earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in the Chaplain Section. He once performed a wedding ceremony for Rev. Glen and Lucy Rodgers. He was also instrumental in the historic baby lift out of Vietnam and in locating homes for those children. After retiring from the USAF, Will joined the Texas A&M Extension Service Accounting Department. Will was an example of Christian stewardship. He was passionate about helping those in need and gave generously to numerous causes. Will was the 'sunshine' in the lives of all he touched, as there was a twinkle in his eye, a smile ready on his face, and a helping hand when needed. He will be missed in the lives of all who dearly loved him, until one day when we meet again. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Intrepid Center, Paralyzed Veterans of San Antonio, or an organization of your choice. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at noon at Mission Park North, followed by interment at Mission Burial Park North.
