SHEPPARD Our devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, William James Sheppard, Sr. Shep went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Hattie Mae Sheppard, his first wife, Marjorie Mae Pitts and granddaughter, Danette Louis Grohman. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Betty Jo Seewald Sheppard, daughter, Marjorie Louise Sheppard Grohman, and husband, Victor; son, William James Sheppard, Jr. and wife, Suzanne; daughters Robbie Hulsey of Denison, TX, Laurie Poremba and husband, Dick of Corpus Christi, TX, Jamie Ernst of San Antonio, TX Stacie Wyatt and husband, Dan of Floresville, TX; grandchildren, Melony Grohman, Victor Grohman, Jr. and wife, Cathy, William P. Smith and wife, Heidi, Jennifer Ernst, Christopher Ernst, Jacob Hulsey, Joshua Hulsey, Charlie Ann Wyatt, Corie Ray Wyatt, Clinton B. Wyatt and Clayton L. Wyatt. Great grandchildren, Michelle R. Brooks, Christopher Lee Knight, Amber Danette Tedrow. Great great grandchildren, Brian Brooks, Dylan Knight and Allexis Tedrow; sister, Eunice Lamb of Grand Prairie, TX; niece, Carol Williams and husband, Douglas of Abilene, TX; nephew Charles B. Lamb and wife, Jane of Grand Prairie, TX and niece, Becky Meyers and husband, David of Boerne, TX. Shep graduated from Harlandale High School. He began his career at Telotte Electric Co and later went to Harry T. Pitts Electric Co. He then went into the Navy and served in the Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II. When he came back, he worked for Paul Wright Electric Co. Shep owned and operated Herrera-Sheppard Electric Co., Sheppard-Hamers Electric Co., Sheppard Electric Co. He co-founded Massengale Armature Works with Mr. Robert Hamers and Mr. Louis Massengale. He owned and operated Swensons Ice Cream, S & W Wholesale Distributors and Southwest Data Cash Registers Co. After Shep retired he then directed operations for Collier Electric Co. out of Temple, TX for their San Antonio branch and later he directed operations for Mills Electric Co. out of Dallas, TX in San Antonio. He was past member of The Petroleum Club of San Antonio, state of Texas Master Electrician, Deacon of Christ Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers Chris Ernst, Donald Green, Roy Grohman, John Martin, William C. Smith, William P. Smith, Donald Van Artsdolen and Dan Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers, David Brigman, Isaiah Clinton, Dr. Paul Gorsuch, Ron Hilburn, Bob James, Joe Maurin, Archie Norris, Doug Philip, Bob Tuckey, and Jerry Whitaker. Services Visitation will be held from 6:00 9:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2005 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Christ Presbyterian Church 5440 Vance Jackson with interment to follow at Boerne City Cemetery.
