    Amelia L. Ortiz

    May 27, 1951 - February 16, 2022

A loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Amelia Lopez Ortiz went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2022, at the age of 70, in San Antonio, TX. She was born on May 27, 1951 in Mission, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband Mario Ortiz, father, Arturo Lopez; son, Mario I. Ortiz, Jr. and brothers, Armando Lopez and Oscar Lopez. Amelia is survived by her mother, Fidela Lopez; children, Manuel Garcia, Sylvia Martinez (Joe), Michele Ortiz, Steven Ortiz and Raymond Ortiz (Kristina); siblings, Nick Lopez (Jo Cris), Ofelia Dominguez (Joe), Joe Lopez (JoAnn), Carlos Lopez (Norma) and Pete Lopez (Irma), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Amelia always had a smile on her face, she was a great listener and even greater provider of love and compassion. She was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She truly had a heart of gold. She enjoyed spending time with her family at home, whether it was playing bingo or just drinking coffee and talking. She was quite the movie buff, watching old western movies and any Christmas movie were always her favorite. She especially loved taking family trips to the casinos. Visitation will be on Monday, March 14th, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. at El Carmen Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
