    Doris Rose Layman

    September 18, 1932 - March 27, 2022

    Doris Rose Layman, 89, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was born on September 18, 1932 in Cannelton, West Virginia, the second oldest of four children of David and Madeline Evans. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Layman Jr., son Charlie Stover, brothers William (Clem) Clendenin and David Evans. She is survived by her sister, Charlotte (Ray) Friesen, daughters, Wendy (Roy) Wiemers and Renee (Michael) White, and daughter in law Pamela Stover. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Shannon (Byron) Walker, Autumn (Loren) Bradley, Jory Wiemers, Cole (Stephanie) Wiemers, Dana (Luke) Whitmire, and Leslie White, and nine great-grandchildren: Will, Madelin, Evan, Julian, Charlie, Cale, Jaxton, Cash, and Judson, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Doris was loved by all and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapel Cherry Ridge at 3401 Cherry Ridge St, San Antonio, 78230. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be contributed to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://act.alz.org/, or by mail to: Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
