    Gilda Longoria

    May 19, 1965 - December 16, 2021

Gilda Longoria, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 16th 2021 at the age of 56. Gilda was born a bright shining star on May 19th 1965 in Lubbock Texas to Andres and Julia Longoria. She was raised in San Antonio and graduated from Clark High school before attending NYU in New York to persue her passion for all things pertaining to theatre. She paved her own way, reaching for and accomplishing her dreams, starring in blockbuster movies, independent projects, and continuing on to produce and direct as well. Her love for the arts was not just centered around cinema, but music also. She often sent inspirational songs to those she loved via text, and even sang lead for the high school garage band formed by her brothers Andrew and Walter. She filled any room with her boisterous presence. She brought an undeniable energy with her where she went. She was feisty, spirited, brave, adventurous, loyal, generous and loved fiercely- especially her family. She was loved and will be incredibly missed. Gilda is proceeded in death by her mother Julia whom she adored, and had passed away from the same type of cancer just two weeks prior. Her nephew Zachary and her fur baby Cocoa Pup undoubtedly also embraced her with joy upon her arrival into Heaven. She leaves behind her father Andres and step-mother Cruz, her brother Andrew and wife Nora and their children, her brother Walter and wife Jamie and their children, her half sisters Carolina and Flor and their children, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, half siblings, step-siblings, cousins, and her beloved dog Blu. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 6, 2022 from 6pm-8pm. and funeral service will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Friday January 7, 2022 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Interment to follow in Mission Burial Park North. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at the funeral home to help the family pay for her funeral expenses. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found the place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a hug Ah yes, these things I'll miss too. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine if tomorrow. My life has been full, I've savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief Don't lengthen it now with undo grief. Lift up your heart, and share with me. God wanted me now; He set me free.
