Gloria Jean Thompson

June 2, 1947 - March 15, 2022

Gloria Jean Thompson went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2022, at the age of 74. She was born to Arnold Garcia and Valentina Razo on June 2, 1947, in Oakland California. She is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Marely. Gloria is survived by her Husband Michael Thompson; Son Paul Hernandez (wife Monica), Stepson John Thompson (wife Jennifer); Daughters Valerie Logan (husband Jerod), Ricarda Garcia (husband Joshua); Grandchildren Alexandria, Maricela, Lucas, Alaina, Jasmin, Jacob, Tripp and John; Brothers Arnold Garcia, Robert Garcia (wife Diane), Richard Garcia (wife Cass), Alfred Bruggman (wife Liz) and many other loving family members and friends. Gloria was raised in Colusa California, surrounded by multiple family members and established lifelong friendships. She spent many years of her early adult life in Southern California, she later relocated to Chico California where she retired from Chico State University. In the early 2000’s she moved and settled in San Antonio Texas where she met and married her soulmate, Michael. No matter where Gloria lived, she drew people in with her loving, kind spirit and generosity and made everlasting connections. Gloria loved life; she was a strong, beautiful, vibrant woman of faith. She enjoyed hosting large gatherings, loved to laugh, was always fashionable: loved jewelry, makeup, was notorious for leaving her lipstick print on your cheek and she absolutely loved to dance. Her most treasured hobbies were traveling, going to the movies, shopping and having her nails done. Gloria will be deeply missed and forever loved and remembered through all our memories and every life that was touched by this beautiful angel.
