Irene H. Porter (98) was born August 23, 1923 in Pleasanton, TX. She went to be with our Lord on December 4, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Ramona Huizar; husband, Juan G. Porter; her brother, Ramon T. Huizar; sisters, Herminia and Josefina Huizar; her uncle for whom she cared as a father, Jose F. Alegria; and later in life, dear friend and companion, Meliton Juarez. She is also preceded in death by three of her children, Juan H. Porter, Jr., Irene P. Campa, and Freddie H. Porter. She is survived by her loving children, Benita P. Ratliff (the late J.B.), Rita P. Rayos (Lupe), Frances P. Dominguez (Albert), Ella P. Rios (Ruben), Roger H. Porter (Connie), Alice P. Morris (the late Charles), Henry H. Porter (the late SandraLee), Margie Porter (Tom Robinson), Davy H. Porter (Helen), and Linda P. Treviño (Luis); son-in-law, Alberto Campa (the late Irene); 46 grandchildren, and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews who she inspired and loved very much. Irene was a descendent of Alamo Defender Gregorio Esparza and San Jose Mission Rose Window Architect Pedro Huizar. Irene’s passion in life was her family, friends, and her Avon business, in which she excelled for over 40 years. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed. On behalf our entire family, we wish to extend our gratitude to Beloved Hospice for the exceptional attention and personalized care they provided to my mother since May 2020. Services A visitation will take place Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4pm – 8pm at Brookehill Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 6pm. Visitation will continue at 9am on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 with a procession to take place at 10am from Brookehill Funeral Home to Esparza Cemetery. A Graveside Prayer will be held at 11am.
