Jose Luis Rivera March 12, 1935 - May 19, 2022 An Angel has returned to Heaven. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father and hero, Jose Luis Rivera. Preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Antonia Vega Rivera and wife of 17 years Margarita Cabrera Rivera. He leaves behind sons Ronnie (Rosa), Manuel, Larry✝️ (Flora), Gilbert✝️, Johnny (Andrea), James (Mari), daughters Elizabeth (Chris) and Herlinda. In addition, stepchildren Martin, Victor (Mary) and Irma, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will mourn his passing and he will be greatly missed. He taught us all many valuable lessons in life. Dad was a hardworking man, a great provider and a devoted father. He was hard, but at the same time was kind. Although he was a man of few words, dad never sugar coated the truth. He always told you what was on his mind. He had a special wit and humor about him. Dad longed to return to his hometown Orocovis, Puerto Rico for another family visit but time ran out and that would not come to pass. Because Jesus took him home to join his father Ventura Rivera Maldonado, mother Josefa Otero Santos, brothers Agapito, Raphael, Carlos and Manuel. We will forever miss the love and laughter he shared with us. He has left a void in each of us that only time can heal. We wait for the day when we will all reunite again in heaven.
