Margaret L. Hernandez, 73, was called home to be with our Lord on March 18, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Compton, California, the oldest of 12 siblings. Preceding her in death were her parents, Rosalio and MaryLou Lemos, sister, Rose Mary Lemos, brother, Joe Lemos and her beloved son Richard Hernandez. Margaret is survived by her husband of 50 years Ruben C. Hernandez, sons Vincent, Joseph (Crystal), Nicholas (Amanda) and Michael Hernandez, daughter, Ruby (Brandon) Bosnick, grandchildren Richard, Felicity, Nicholas, Julian, Aubrey, Madelyn, Charli, Chandler, Gabriella, Cecelia, Zoey and Natalie, 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Growing up in a large family Margaret would help by sewing clothes for her younger siblings. With her love of sewing, she contributed to the fashion needs of her own family and friends, this included school, church and community events. Margaret’s fashionista sensibility knew the latest trend. Margaret was employed as a counselor’s clerk at Woodlawn Hills and Woodlawn E.S. in San Antonio, I.S.D. for many years. She was beautiful, caring, soft spoken, patient and funny. Margaret possessed a quiet inner strength. Also, in spite of her medical issues and illness, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She found comfort and support in her Catholic Faith. Margaret will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment will be on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 10:15 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at Shelter No. 2. A reception to follow Cornerstone Church 18755 Stone Oak Pkwy. San Antonio, TX 78258.
