Mary M. Gonzalez

Mary M. Gonzalez of San Antonio, Tx. passed away on the morning of March 11, 2022, at age 97. Mrs. Gonzalez was born to Inez and Louisa Martinez from Elmendorf, Tx. on September 17, 1924. She married her husband Gilberto M. Gonzalez in 1947 and raised their 3 children in San Antonio, Tx. They were together 38 years until his death in 1985. Mrs. Gonzalez worked at Judson's Candies in San Antonio for many years. Mary loved to cook and especially enjoyed the annual gathering for the Tamale making Party. She shared hundreds of pounds of oranges, tangerines, lemons and avocados with neighbors and friends from the trees that Gilberto had planted in their yard. Her favorite pastime was playing Loteria Bingo with family and friends. She was an active member of Saint Cecilia Catholic Church on Whittier St., San Antonio for most of her life. Mrs. Gonzalez was preceded in death by her Husband, Gilberto M. Gonzalez. She is survived by Daughter Janie Hernandez (Fred), Sons Gilbert G. Gonzalez and Daniel R. Gonzalez (MJ). Grandchildren: Veronica Cummings (Brad), James Hernandez, Rachel Velez (Albert), Amber Whiting (Daniel Sr.), Monica Bergstrom (Branden), Geoffrey Gonzalez, Rhiannon Gonzalez, and 9 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will begin on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South with a rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with a procession from the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ft.
