Robert "Bob" Franks

September 26, 1951 - April 20, 2022

Robert "Bob" Franks passed away suddenly on April 20, 2022 at the age of 70. Bob was born in San Antonio, TX on September 26, 1951 to Frank and Eva Franks. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Franks, Sr., and brothers: David Franks, Frank Franks, Jr., and Jim Franks. Survivors include his wife Carol Davis Sankey Franks; his mother, Eva Franks; and his two sons: Zachary Franks and wife Ashley, and Christian Franks and wife Lisa. As part of a Marine Corps family, they were stationed at various Military bases throughout the country. Bob graduated from Yuma High School in Yuma, Arizona in 1969. He joined the San Antonio Fire Department in 1973 where he proudly served 27 years. He was a supporter of the Texas Longhorns and San Antonio Spurs. Bob enjoyed collecting, being around horses, playing the Guitar, old Western Movies, and having a beer. He enjoyed the high plains, mountain passes and the American West. Bob's generosity, sense of humor and laughter will be remembered by many. SERVICES Friends are invited to attend the Visitation beginning at 5:00pm on Wednesday, April 27 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 28 at Mission Retama Cemetery with honors provided by the San Antonio Firefighters Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Whitmire, Jim Whitmire, James Cano, Michael Kinnaird, Bob Lynch, Edwin Lugo, Chris Otte, and Bill Steel.
