Rosalie A. Jones
January 28, 1930 - November 28, 2021
Our Loving Mother, Rosalie A. Rotondi-Jones died peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, November 28 at the age of 91. She was born on January 28, 1930 in San Antonio to Dominick and Sallie Rotondi. Mom graduated high school from St Henry's Academy in 1948 and attended Our Lady of the Lake University. After schooling, she worked for 18 years at Brown Express and then Acme Fast Freight. Her lifelong passion for travel and adventure started as a young career woman where she enjoyed numerous trips to Mexico and traveled cross country in her 1955 Ford Fairlane with her friends. In 1965, she met her future husband, Donald Jones, on a blind date set up by their family members. They were married a year later in 1966 and enjoyed 54 years of loving marriage. In 1968, her husband whisked her off on yet another fantastic adventure and lived in Fribourg Switzerland for two years. They travelled extensively throughout Europe with their young son and saw many amazing sites. One of our fondest memories growing up is her frying up homemade meatballs and making authentic pasta sauce as we watched Saturday morning cartoons. Mom was unwavering in her love of family, tradition, and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. She was the best Mom two sons could have, your guidance, dedication and wisdom will always be carried in our hearts. Her favorite pastime later on in life was spoiling her granddaughter with homemade Italian food and many delicious sweets. Nana cherished her only grandchild and never missed a moment to give her a big hug and kiss. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, sister, Frances Lecocke, and brother Frank Rotondi. Survivors include her sons, Stephen and Matthew, daughter-in-law Maria de los Angeles, granddaughter Monica, sister-in-law Joyce Harrell, and numerous precious nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Lecocke, Don Lecocke, Anthony Lecocke, Mike Ritchey, Justin Ritchey, and Brandon Ritchey. Visitation will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North from 5pm-7pm, Monday, December 13 followed by a rosary. Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 14 at 10am followed by interment at San Fernando II Cemetery. We invite you to sign the guestbook at missionparks.com. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society.
