Theresa Teddy Gloria Marquez

March 9, 1937 - May 8, 2022

Theresa Teddy Gloria Marquez, 85, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on May 8, 2022. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Juan Antonio Marquez and Rafaela Louise Talamantez; her two sisters Juanita Marquez and Mary Susan Marquez; and her son Joseph Kadura. She is survived by her children, Lily Diane Lucas and husband, Alejandro; Betty Louise Gonzalez, Daniel Louis Lyssy and wife, Juanita; Alexander Joseph Kadura and wife, Veronica; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews. Theresa’s earliest experience of working started at the age of ten when she began selling candy. Later she worked alongside her dad in the cement business by learning the administrative and accounting functions applicable to the industry. Eventually she made a 40+ year career of handling the overall operations (i.e., sales, collections, writing bids and contracts, etc.) of various companies in the tile contracting business. She had a knack for being business minded. Her last 10+ years of work focused on being a caretaker in home healthcare, which included caring for her daughter, Diane. She worked in home healthcare up until the time of passing. She was known for having an independent spirit, strong work ethic and took pride in her work. Theresa had a passion for traveling and did so when possible. Her travels include visiting eight different countries. She is remembered by loved ones for her strength, honesty, respectfulness and being a very good mother. She was a remarkable woman and great roll model. She had great love and devotion for her family. Theresa lived a very full life and will be greatly missed by loved ones. A special thanks to family and friends contributing to funeral expenses and offering support. Visitation will be held on May 18, 2022 from 6PM – 8PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge. A funeral service will be held the following day on May 19, 2022 from 10AM – 11AM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge. Internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
