Ygnacio H. Serrato

A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Ygnacio Hernandez Serrato, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2022, at the blessed age of 90. He was born on February 1, 1932 to Espiridion and Jovita in Charlotte, Texas. He was met in heaven by his parents, grandson Patrick Linehan, brothers Espiridion, Benito, sisters, Dolores Reyna and Guadalupe Gonzalez. Ygnacio is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eva Flores Serrato; children, Richard (Dora), Ernest (Tiana), Albert (Christopher), Rose Marie Sanchez (Inocencio), Beatrice Gunderman (Richard); sister, Margarita Galvan (Gilbert); 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends. Although he loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing cards, his true joy was having everyone around him. A visitation will take place on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude would be appreciated. Due to Covid, attendance is limited to immediate family.
